Founder of The Genie Method
As a qualified GCSE English teacher, Head of Department and former examiner, I bring over 15 years of classroom experience, alongside a strong track record of helping students achieve top grades in both English Language and Literature. My teaching is rooted in a clear understanding of what examiners are looking for, allowing students to develop the skills needed to succeed with confidence.
What sets my teaching apart is not just subject knowledge, but a structured approach that focuses on how students think, not just what they write. Through my Genie Method, students learn how to develop ideas, structure their responses effectively, and move beyond basic answers to reach the higher grades.
I specialise in small group masterclasses, where students benefit from exposure to a range of ideas and interpretations - something that is difficult to replicate in traditional 1:1 tutoring. This collaborative approach allows students to refine their thinking and produce more sophisticated responses. My sessions are designed to be focused, supportive and purposeful, giving students the clarity, confidence and control they need to succeed in their exams.

GCSE English Masterclass Programme
Weekly English Masterclasses for Years 7–11
Get ahead of the game with a structured English programme designed to build confidence, clarity and control long before exam pressure begins.
The Genie Method masterclasses support students from Year 7 through to GCSE, including students preparing early, aiming for higher grades, or needing more confidence in English.
Not Your Average Tutoring
These are not random tutoring sessions. Each masterclass is carefully planned and taught by an experienced English teacher, former examiner and former Head of English, with a clear focus on building the skills students need to think more deeply, write more precisely and respond with greater confidence.
Unlike traditional 1:1 tutoring, small-group masterclasses allow students to hear a range of interpretations, compare responses, take part in live discussion and see how stronger answers are built in real time. This exposure to deeper thinking patterns is difficult to replicate in individual sessions and is often what helps students move beyond common plateaus.
Groups are small, focused and responsive to the students in front of me. Students receive clear teaching, guided practice, model responses and in-session feedback, while also benefiting from the energy and challenge of learning alongside others.

Membership: £109 per month
Includes: 38 weekly masterclasses across the academic year
Format: live online small group - cameras may remain off for pupils
Group size: maximum 8 students
Commitment: cancel any time with 30 days’ written notice
Trial: book a £25 trial lesson with no pressure to continue.

The masterclass membership includes 38 weekly sessions across the academic year. You can view the planned teaching weeks, breaks and key dates below.
Key Terms
The masterclasses run as a monthly membership. Your child’s weekly place is reserved for them in a small group, so missed sessions cannot be refunded, swapped or carried over.
If your child is absent, relevant resources will be shared where appropriate so they can catch up.
Membership can be cancelled with 30 days’ written notice.
